MOTH COMPLEX combines bruising rock with off-kilter electronics – all underlying singer, Aoife O'Leary’s powerful and gentle vocals.

Moth Complex began in Aoife's hometown of Dublin, Ireland, when she began writing and recording with producer, G. Owens.

Together, they fused the bruising rock they both love with off-kilter electronics and powerful pop sensibilities.

"Moth Complex plays with opposites,” says Aoife (pronounced kinda like "Ee-fa"). “Darkness and light, strength and vulnerability, hardness and gentleness."

Following the 2008 release of the EP, “Error 256”, Moth Complex saw international TV, radio and press exposure, including features as “Best Unsigned Band” in major genre-based European magazines.

Successful European shows and tours followed, leading to Moth Complex touring extensively across the States and playing shows at the infamous Viper Room and The Roxy on LA’s legendary Sunset Strip. Moth Complex also released two full-length albums - "Moth Complex" in 2011 and "Core" in 2015.

"You Don't Know" from the album, "Moth Complex", was featured for full band gameplay on Rock Band Network and Moth Complex songs were placed on UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships).

Moth Complex shared the stage with bands such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Lacuna Coil and secured partnerships with Jagermeister Music, Amp Energy and Gibson/Kramer Guitars amongst others.

“Good, gritty, girl rawk… Aoife’s total commitment to each moment is what made the Moth Complex show sparkle.” – Kristen Lowman, LAExaminer.com
